Harvard, Princeton and Brown Universities . . . Wolfson College, Oxford . . . the CNRS in Paris . .. Dr. Marlena Corcoran has held visiting research appointments at some of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions.
She studied for two years at the École normale supérieure in Paris and holds a Ph.D. in English from Brown University, one of the eight Ivy League universities in the United States.
As Head of Education on the national board of the American German Business Clubs e.V., Dr. Corcoran has designed “Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow,“ a nation-wide German scholarship and internship program that will launch in 2007.
In 2004, she published two novels, Skyline-Syndikat and Tod im Grand Canyon.
These two books are designed to help adults improve their English. Dr. Corcoran publishes regularly in prestigious journals in Europe and the United States.
In 2003, Dr. Corcoran received an award from Brown for her volunteer work with the international community. She served for two years on the Board of Governors of the Brown Alumni Association, representing international and graduate alumni. Dr. Corcoran just completed three years of service as Regional Director of the Brown Alumni Schools Committee, where she was responsible for organizing interviews for candidates to Brown from Europe, Africa and the Middle East. During this time, she revolutionized the system and achieved contact rates of close to one hundred per cent.
Dr. Corcoran is a co-moderator of MBA Central in the online business community, XING. She is active in online groups such as Global Business Women and Global Success.
Dr. Corcoran is assisted by an American math coach who just graduated from Harvard University in 2006, and an experienced German consultant who has taught at the best American and German universities.
